At maturity, a typical Gray Birch will reach up to 40 feet high, with a maximum height of 40 feet after 20 years. The bark of saplings and aged plants is white, but not as bright or as papery as that of the Paper Birch. The fall color of Gray Birch is a brilliant bright yellow.
